In a sleepy So-Cal beach town back in 1996, I got into technology by learning HTML on dare. A few months later I moved to San Francisco, and found myself working in Silicon Valley. I was fortunate to work with really, really smart people who taught me all about software development and design. I saw many projects go well, and some not so well. By 2000, I’d made the transition from designer/developer to whatever we called a “Ux”-er at the time. I’d become really passionate about making users happy by designing great experiences and being the user advocate. I still am today.

20 years later I’ve had the opportunity to work on the most interesting projects in healthcare, online banking, and enterprise security for companies including Johnson & Johnson, PayPal, the “Big 3 Banks”, and the bio-tech giant Amgen.

When I’m not designing or reading up on the latest design tools and trends, I relax and exercise at the beach or on the water, cook delicious dinners for my family, and coach my tween-age stepson in his advanced classes.
